bigest problem might be old gas. Drain the tank, blow out the lines with air, refil with a couple gallons and instal an in-line filter and keep a spare or two. I had problems with both my '55 cars and on one, I opened up the tank (with a cutter) and took about a half gallon of grit and sludge out of the tank.
Is this what you mean?
Wow! It sure looks like it! Okay, I now know how I will try to make one out of some cardboard. $135.00! Whew!
Most Sincerely,

We will most certainly address this issue. Today, we will be pulling the drums and looking over the brakes, replacing what we need to. Soon as I can, I will post some cool photos of us getting this ole gal back to life for the drive east. I'll fashion a heater duct to get us home as well. Heck, if the Apollo astronauts can do it in the 60s, I am sure we can do it in Commerce City.

A (poorly) stapled cardboard tube for $135? If it was metal or plastic, maybe
I wish I had little kids, they'd make these things for free and have fun doing it haha. I bet they'd even get the staples remotely even. I'd only sell it at $130
Update:
We are struggling with getting dependable tires. Walmart has successfully, seriously disappointed us.
But...we have located a heater box with a core and that ducting I was previously searching for.
We also discovered that we indeed have the stock radio (model 808) even though it is not functional.
Tomorrow, we hope to get the wiring sorted out and start the car.
MANY THANKS to Rodger Reddick for coming up to Commerce City and lending a hand, bringing supplies and giving valuable tips and tricks to help get us running. I promise to try and get some photos posted soon.
Most Sincerely,
Ralph M Bohm

Tires are all on and holding air;
Pulled and tested the radiator.
Discovered a bad heater core. Got a replacement core complete with housing.
Radiator, thermostat and heater box is in and cooling system is holding coolant.
We installed a new battery.
Fuel pump was not bringing fuel up to the carb; No fuel pump available on short notice so purchased a 6 Volt electric fuel pump and spent time installing it. (learned that SAE and metric fittings do not play together well).
Broke for a quick bite and will try to determine if the generator puts out.
So, at this point, we have a good running engine with a solid exhaust system. Brakes work well except the pedal has trouble returning and I will need to climb under the car to figure out where to install a return spring.
Will also try to finish up wiring up the critical circuits.
Still have to make sire she'll shift into all gears.

Update: Still in Denver.
Got the generator working after pulling it and installing new brushes.
Fixed some wiring problems and installed a new switch for the fuel pump.
we now have headlights and tail lights.
We've now determined that we have a plugged fuel line or pick up in the fuel tank so today we will raise back end up, drop the tank and try to repair that, and hopefully will be ready to roll east towards Maine tomorrow morning 3 days late and just ahead of an approaching Storm.
Most Sincerely,

you will have to write an article for a club magazine telling of your adventure
Well Folks
Here I was stopped at the inter-section of Cheyenne County Road 43/
Cheyenne County Hwy 60 facing west on Colo Hwy 94 ( East of Punkin
Center ) ( I was not moving and completely blocking the West-Bound part
of the two lane hard-top ) and having an Engine Sound not much more
Than An Gold Wing a Green 1950 Carryall purrrrrred past me going to
Wild Horse-Colorado so they could venture south-ward toward U.S.
High-way 50.
Before this I had "shadowed" them from a neighbor hood Louis Pizzia in
Colo Spgs to the location on Colo Hwy 94 ( I got lucky --- they paid ).
While with me I mentioned several times and different ways they should be
in Saint Elmo-Minn July 2013 with their 1950 Carryall.

After a full week of non-stop work and, 3 over our plan putting us 3 days delayed for the road trip back to Maine, we finally got going. Here are some images of us getting the Carryall back together and running
Switching over to a gas tank with a pick-up that isn't clogged.
Trying to sort out some of the wiring in a hurry
A late night working on the car
Installing a new 6-Volt fuel pump
Throwing some more parts at the old gal
Morning of departure with a lot of things fixed and a few still needing fixing.
